About

History

The Workshop on Communications in Critical Embedded Systems has been promoted since 2013 as part of the Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (SBRC), the most notable event on the subject for the Brazilian community, and also IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC), taking a step towards its internationalization.

The successful past editions led WoCCES to the publication of a volume as part of the Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) book series. In this special issue, the 12 best papers published by WoCCES were selected and invited for extension.

Following the successful 2020's edition of the workshop in Rennes, France, the 9th edition will be held again under the wings of IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications 2021. This time, we are heading to the historical city of Athens, Greece.

Format

WoCCES 2021 will keep promoting the presentation-discussion format. Attendees will be encouraged to demonstrate their research achievements in presentations and/or posters for a better visualization, and also other innovative presentation formats that might be eventually proposed. Every carried out discussion among presentation slots will be conducted by a chair whose area of expertise is more related to the works being presented, who will be assisted by other co-organizers that will dedicate full time for the realization of WoCCES.

At the end of the workshop, a wider discussion will take place with a synthesis of the main discussed points, and prospections about the future of the area, including open issues.
